Since its debut in 2007, SRAM Red road group established the reputation as the lightest road group at around 1.920 grams until Campagnolo's newest Super Record 11 Titanium snatched the title, being 10 grams lighter. Although Red remains the only road group who stayed with 10-speed gearing (Shimano went 11-speed with 2013's Dura Ace 9000 group, but that's another story), for the 2013 offering the Red receives a whopping weight reduction, putting the total weight at 1.670 grams.
