Irfan "Ippe" Wahyudi's Leader Kagero

Photos by Irfan Wahyudi
The Kagero frameset is the brainchild of collaboration between leading online fixed gear magazine PEDAL Consumption and San Diego based company Leader Bikes. Launched around August 2011, Irfan "Ippe" Wahyudi of Cyclonesia become one of the team riders to receive one of the first frames shipped straight from the factory. Made from smooth welded double-butted aluminium tubing and pista-style carbon fork, the frameset features compact geometry to provide aggressive, stiff, light and fast riding experience.

To complete this sweet build Ippe let us build him the wheel. It's a pair of low profile H+Son TB-14 rims, inspired by the classic aesthetics from the era when steel frames ruled competitive cycling. A contradiction between skinny, low profile wheels to the fat aluminium tubing add interest to this build. The rims are laced to Phil Wood track hubs, low flange at front and single sided high flange out back.

The valve badge shows neurotic attention and careful detail to this rim.

The rest is combination of assorted parts: Thomson Elite stem and seatpost, Sugino 75 crankset and bottom bracket, Pro anatomic dropbar, Time ATAC pedals and Selle Italia Flite saddle.

Oh, by the way. This is our 100th post! Wow. Time rolls by...

  2. Hire two semis. Full-sized buses will also work. Park them in a way so the traffic are blocked from both directions. Enjoy your post-apocalyptic scene. A voodoo priest would help on the bicycle levitation/balance floating thingy.

Nah, just kidding. The underpass was just finished and still closed for public traffic back then, so we take a few shot there. As for the ghost-trackstanding bicycle? Photoshop, baby.
